SET THRESHOLDS

Qualifiers:

<alarm category> <minor threshold> <major threshold> <critical threshold>

Purpose:

Defines the threshold values at which a call control resource loss will trigger a minor, major, or critical alarm.

NOTE: This maintenance command does not change the system free memory alarm levels (50M minor, 25M major, 15M major and resource recovery, 2M critical).

Details:

Available alarm categories are provided in Alarm Categories; the alarm levels are described in Alarm Status Levels.

A value must be entered for all three alarm types. The number used represents the percentage of resources which must be lost before the alarm is raised.

A value of "nil" can be entered if the alarm type is not required for that alarm category. If zero (0) is entered, any resource loss greater than zero will trigger an alarm.

For example, by default the "SIP Link" alarm category is configured with the following thresholds: 10 50 100. This means that when 10 to 49% of the links are unavailable a minor alarm is triggered, when 50 to 99% of the links are unavailable a major alarm is triggered, and when 100% of the links are unavailable a critical alarm is triggered.

NOTE: Threshold values cannot be entered for the "License Violation" alarm category.

Example:

Entry: SET THRESHOLDS LINES 0 NIL 90

System Response:

Set threshold successful.
